    Description and Responsibilities

    About Functional Ingredients & Actives:

    The Functional Ingredients and Actives (FI&A) division presents a remarkable combination of technical capabilities, innovative applications, and consumer insight understanding. FI&A supports Kerry’s alignment with industry trends such as nutrition, clean label and food safety while the vast portfolio of advanced technologies serves the food, animal nutrition, biotech, fermentation and pharmaceutical markets. Customers come to us for our innovative ideas and integrated solutions, assured that Kerry is where it all comes together for our customers.

     

    Role and Responsibilities

    • Promptly address inquiries from Account Directors with precise and accurate technical information gathered from literature searches, internal group contacts and personal experience. Recommendations provided will include product application details, product specific technical information and general laboratory application knowledge.
    • Utilize available resources to support account directors with information specific to cell nutrition, fermentation and diagnostics processes. Technical recommendations are shared directly with customers and on-going customer/account director communication is common.
    • Effectively communicate with global account directors and internal departments to meet the customer’s needs. Responsible for reaching out to the proper contact, focusing and guiding communication when needed.
    • Perform technical investigations of customer complaints, which may include, but are not limited to, requesting and submitting samples for testing, analyzing data, and preparing reports. Accumulate and summarize relevant details from internal groups. Asses the information collected and summarize in a clear manner. Communicate summary to project team and work collaboratively to troubleshoot Kerry product impact on the customer process.
    • Global Technical Service Manager will manage 2 Technical Service Specialists (1 in Beloit and 1 in China) and is therefore to have some people management experience.
    • Will require up to 15% travel within US, Europe and to Asia.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant field (Life Sciences or other relevant)
    • Experience in the Biotech/biopharmaceutical industry preferred

    Preferred Skills

    • Project management or coordination experience a strong asset
    • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentations skills
    • Strong organization skills to multi-task and meet deadlines
    • Broad scientific (life Sciences or pharmaceutical) knowledge base; applied and pragmatic rather than research
    • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel/Word/PowerPoint, Minitab
    • Works independently and takes ownership of role
    • Excels at working within a culturally diverse environment
    • Able to travel independently and present technical information at formal customer meetings
