    Description and Responsibilities

    2nd Shift (Hours: 3:30pm – 12:00am; Monday - Friday; occasional over-time required)


    This position is responsible for laboratory testing of raw materials and finished product according to Good Manufacturing Practices and Kerry Standard Operating Procedures. Reporting to the QA Supervisor, the QA Technician plays a role in ensuring all products meet Food Safety and Quality requirements.

    • Analytical and sensory testing of raw materials and finished product
    • Prepares finished product samples for microbiological analysis
    • Monitors critical food safety, quality and process control points
    • Conducts environmental swabbing and allergen swabbing
    • Prepares sensory samples and participates on sensory panelist team
    • Places raw materials and finished products on hold when deviations are detected
    • Performs QA equipment calibrations
    • Verifies sanitation cycles via ATP swabbing
    • Performs chemical concentration titrations
    • Trains plant employees, as needed, on quality policies and procedures
    • Adheres to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety requirements.
    • Supports the SQF Food Safety & Quality System, and adheres to FSMA regulations, by following procedures, participating in training, performing inspections, and assisting in continuous improvement initiatives


    • Minimum of high school diploma is required
    • Experience in a laboratory setting and/or food production environment
    • Knowledge of HACCP, GLPs and GMPs required
    • Experience in root cause analysis an asset
    • Strong verbal and written English
    • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills
    • Knowledge of computer systems necessary- includes Microsoft Applications
    • Ability to work flexible hours when required
