    Description and Responsibilities

    • Create impactful, targeted and strategic presentations for the sales team to utilize. Mainly PowerPoint, however, some powerful images and literature may be necessary. Descriptive writing essential.
      • Research and profile current and prospective customers.
      • Qualify and identify new leads by sales territory via product type or market segment.
      • Maintain sales literature and fulfill literature requests.
    • Must be able to research, compile and make predictions of trends in foodservice, restaurant, and consumer goods.
      • Track blogs, magazines, online media, industry news, etc.
      • Utilize paid database services such as Mintel, Datassential, Technomic, etc.
    • Work with sales, marketing, and culinary team to suggest new flavors to be created.
      • Track sales applications of current flavors to predict trends and establish strongest potential markets for flavors, smokes and grills.
      • Create materials and message for specific new products.
    • Create overall company marketing message.
      • Maintain website for content changes.
      • Work with marketing team to develop press release program to magazines in the food, meat and foodservice segments.
      • Position product lines with current trends.
      • Create quarterly “Food Mood”.
      • Create eblasts, product announcements, special invites, etc.
    • Coordinate activities with Culinary and R&D.
      • Maintain product samples (bacon, lunch meat, etc.) database.
      • Attend tastings of product demos or new flavor creation.
    • Assist in managing the marketing budget and directing activities to initiate planned strategies addressing both long and short term positioning of key category segments.
    • Perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork and emails.
    • Essential functions included in this section are not limited only to the tasks and responsibilities listed.

     

    Additional Responsibilities (Non-Essential Functions)

    • Coordiantes with internal sales assistants when necessary.
    • Become knowledgeable in salesforce and maximizer.
    • Be able to enter sample requests and track sample requests.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, graphic arts or relevant subject.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
    • Excellent attention to details and accuracy.
    • Professional level of organization.

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Qualifications

    • Should have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. Basic graphic design software such as InDesign, Publisher and Photoshop. Internet-based website administrative tool preferred.
    • Superior writing and grammar skills.
    • Photography experience a plus.
    • Interest in cooking, smoking meats, eating meat, creating recipes, dining a plus. Food and meat tasting done regularly. Flavor mapping of products will be taught.
    • Willingness to work long hours when required with some weekend work necessary.

    Working Relationships Required with Others

    • Willingness to cooperate and be a part of the sales and marketing team. Expected to attend general sales meetings and functions both day and evening when held in Manitowoc.
    • Will work closely with Marketing Manager and Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Account Managers as well as Sales Assistants, Sales Administrative Assistant, Research and Development and Culinary teams.
