    Description and Responsibilities

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Primarily responsible for the acquisition of materials for production requirements whole goods by sourcing materials, obtaining quotes, placing orders and expediting materials where required. The Materials Coordinator role also supports the day to day plant operations and management team as well to provide back up support to each other including Shipping/Receiving roles. This job description is to be used as a guideline only, and may not incorporate all functions of the job.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Purchasing

    • For the purchase of good for use and resale.
    • Fulfill material list requirements through calculating quantities and purchase of materials
    • Record and monitor accounts with appropriate documentation
    • Advise appropriate internal departments of materials available
    • Identify changes affecting both the supply of and the demand for products and materials
    • Record all activity on appropriate job reports
    • Obtain and ensure NAFTA Certificates are completed as required

    Raw Materials / Finished Goods

    • Utilize shortage reports to identify inventory requirements
    • Obtain technical data from suppliers as required by Quality Control
    • Purchase all raw materials from U.S. affiliates that are required in manufacturing
    • Prepare all Customs documents required to import ingredients
    • Perform cycle counting and systems investigation to address any discrepancies in the system
    • Schedule tanks to ensure availability for deliveries

     

    Inventory Control

    • Perform accurate data entry to maintain appropriate inventory levels
    • Analyze and calculate inventory to ensure raw materials are received on schedule
    • Obtain up-to-date product and price listings
    • Track project inventory levels through reports to ensure levels are maintained at approved levels

     

    Shipping/Receiving

    • Responsible for coordinating shipping to required destinations
    • Establish delivery schedules and monitor progress
    • Perform monthly area inspections for GMP’s etc.

     

    Administrative

    • Answering phones and understanding phone system.
    • Answering door, signing visitors in adhering to the Visitor Policy.
    • Preparing and sending couriers.
    • Mail - using mail machine and sorting.
    • Report all food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

     

    Continuous Improvements

    • Maintain technical proficiency through participating in training and development courses
    • Participate with team in continuous improvement projects and suggestions
    • Adhere to the ethical standards implicit within the company

    Qualifications

    Experience

    • Computer literate in a Microsoft Office, AS400
    • PMAC Certificate(s) or relevant work experience
    • Minimum 2 years in a fast-pace environment with an inventory control focus
    • Experience with a Freight Management software
