    Description and Responsibilities

    • Lead a team of regulatory associates and specialists to assure compliance of Kerry products with appropriate regulations and to serve as a regulatory resource to internal and external customers.
    • Maintain and assure data integrity of technical databases related to formulations and finished products. 
    • Drives Regulatory agenda internally and externally and represents the function in resolving complex cross-functional business issues.
    • Translates business goals into functional goals and objectives.
    • Frequently integrates with other functions to develop and drive broader functional/ BU policies and procedures and identifies opportunities and develops agenda for regulatory to enable business growth.
    • Lead Regulatory KPI reporting, trending and review.
    • Manage the strategic vision for the RDA function through analysis of the regulatory landscape in which we operate. Facilitate the promotion and protection of Kerry IP.
    • Represent Kerry in negotiations and discussions with the key industry regulatory decision makers, trade associations, and competent authorities as required.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry or other technical project management disciplines; MS preferred
    • 5+ years direct Regulatory experience
    • 2 years of experience managing a team and experience in developing and coaching employees
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with consumer facing finished product labeling, preferably with beverage/nutritional products but will consider experience with food or supplement products as well
    • Direct experience with ingredient line generation, nutrition facts panels, and product labeling & claims requirements for both US and Canada markets
    • Ability to review and substantiate claims (Structure function, Nutrient Content, Dietary Supplement, etc.) and effectively communicate regulatory stance on such claims to internal and external customers.
    • Strong track record of working within a fast paced, collaborative, cross-functional, environment. Firsthand experience in working with and building strong cross-functional relationships with R&D, marketing, sales, legal and quality teams, as well as external third party certifiers (Organic, Halal. Kosher, etc.).
    • Influences team & ensures alignment at all levels; Ensures project execution
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving techniques, quantification of outcomes and measurements, and experience utilizing change management tactics.
    • Drives the regulatory service leadership and strategy within the broader team
    • Identifies and defines business related regulatory programs to address needs of business;
    • Drives regulatory continuous process improvement plans
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and ability to present complex technical information in succinct and high level briefing style. 
    • Assure accurate, timely, and professional communication of information to customers. Understand, respect, and act ethically when dealing with matters related to regulatory compliance
