    Description and Responsibilities

    1. Designs, implements, and modifies preventive maintenance programs by reviewing production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics; inspecting operating machines, equipment, and systems for conformance with operational standards.
    2. Prioritizes and schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
    3. Directs the activities of outside contractors as required to maintain equipment and processes and inspects and accepts work to ensure compliance to plant standards.
    4. Plans maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
    5. Analyzes maintenance organizational effectiveness and modifies plans and programs to ensure maximum efficiency.
    6. Identifies current and future maintenance requirements by establishing rapport with management, engineering, quality, production personnel and intra-company peers in a position to understand maintenance requirements.
    7. Supports product development and improvement by reviewing new product plans; discussing equipment needs and modifications with design engineers; coordinating activities of technicians and workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment.
    8. Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
    9. Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual maintenance budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
    10. Directs the requisition of tools, equipment, and supplies required for continuous machine and process operation.
    11. Manages the plant’s mechanical assets, working with the Plant Controller to ensure proper physical inventory and valuation levels.
    12. Directs training and indoctrination of maintenance staff to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.
    13. Maintains maintenance staff by recruiting and selecting qualified individuals.


    • Bachelor’s Degree required. Engineering or other technical field
    • 7+ total years maintenance engineering field in a manufacturing environment, including 5+ years Supervisory / Management experience
    • 5+ industry experience (SQF, USDA) from food, beverage, pharma, mills or foundry
    • Experience with predictive/preventive maintenance programs
    • Proven experience in project management execution & using tools like MS Project
    • Experience driving Lean initiatives
    • Experience with Allen Bradly PLC &  troubleshooting
    • Budget planning and managing
    • Ability to work in a changing and Multi-task environment
