    Description and Responsibilities

    Job Summary (Purpose):  Maintenance technicians will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. They will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, job fabrication, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company.


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Foster a successful, accountable 1Kerry oriented work environment
    • Responsible for following all applicable quality and food safety procedures and policies
    • Ensure fellow employees, contractors and visitors are following all applicable quality and food safety procedures and policies
    • Ensure adherence to proper personal safety regulations, policies and procedures
    • Obtain forklift/aerial lift certifications specific to Kerry (certification will be obtained during orientation)
    • Must be able to lead and help train fellow team members within the departments
    • Accurately maintain company records and forms
    • Repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, and pumps
    • Repair or replace control devises such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed
    • Perform work order repairs, inspections and adjustments
    • Able to set up and operate welders, drill press, grinder, hand tools and other metal working equipment
    • Fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment
    • Participates in plant safety, health and environmental programs
    • Maintain the work area and equipment in clean and orderly condition
    • Other duties as assigned


    Education and Experience:

    • 1-2 years experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment preferred and/or related training/education/skills.
    • Must be able to communicate in English at a level to facilitate the understanding and terminology of the job

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Desired):

    • Ability to comprehend and follow written and/or verbal procedures or instructions
    • Ability to learn basic keyboard and data entry skills
    • Ability to work safely
    • Ability to operate forklift and pallet movers
    • Ability to organize and plan ahead to maximize job efficiency
    • General mechanic, fabricating, boiler operation, refrigeration, welding (Tig, Arc and Sanitary), plumbing (air, water, steam and hydraulics), with electrical being a plus
    • Ability to utilize Blueprint/Electrical Schematics a plus
    • PLC  programming and maintenance a plus (Rockwell Automation)
