    Description and Responsibilities

    This position is responsible for reviewing and submitting weekly payroll as well as keeping accurate employee records. This position is also a support for all other areas of the Jackson operation as needed.

     

    Accounting Assistant--- Report to Performance Manager (50%)

    • Post daily production receipts and usage in Mapics Inventory System (AS400 system)
    • Log and Maintain downtime reporting information
    • Review inventory reports for trends to verify accuracy and identify efficiency improvements
    • Monitors material lot numbers used to identify potential FIFO rotation concerns
    • Reconcile, organize and file daily production paperwork
    • Support the Cycle Count Program
    • Identify and initiates Daily/Weekly cycle counts of inventory
    • Research inventory discrepancies to identify issues and initiate corrective action to resolve.
    • Confirm discrepancies are tied back to inventory system and all paperwork
    • Investigates shortages or overages and reconcile reasons for inventory adjustments
    • Confirm all Manufacturing Orders (MO’s) are closed and accounted for at month end
    • Identify and clean up rounding issues in inventory system
    • Manage the Bulk lot coding process and transactional requirements
    • Identifies continuous improvement opportunities in the area of inventory control
    • Provide support to facilities Kronos time and attendance program
    • Support the SQF Food Safety and Quality System by following procedures and participating in training


    Payroll (50%)

    • Tracking and managing time and attendance
    • In charge of Payroll process (Kronos) 
    • Initial Garnishment data entry.
    • Employment Verifications 
    • WC Wage reports
    • Employee Benefits (5%) 
    • Employee change forms
    • Maintaining employee information
    • Short term and long term Disability paperwork 
    • Working with HR to ensure all company / legal requirements are followed 
    • Admin (5%) 


    Annual staff events - Christmas lunch / summer picnic

     

    Support the SQF Food Safety and Quality System by implementing and following procedures, taking part in Social Compliance information.

    Qualifications

    • Associate Degree and/or equivalent work experience preferred.
    • 2+ years’ experience in payroll, inventory control and data entry.
    • Ability to read, analyze legal documents.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
    • Must use logical thought processes and deductive reasoning.
    • Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
