    Description and Responsibilities

    The Strategic Marketing Director will be the primary lead for all Marketing activities within the National Account channel. Specifically focused on establishing growth strategies with the Vice President of Global National Accounts and Vice President of Marketing - North America, the Strategic Marketing Director is pivotal in the long-term business planning process.  In addition, the Strategic Marketing Director will be responsible for developing and implementing winning go to market plans through assimilating market/consumer research and analytics, directing strategic marketing communication efforts, guiding new product and solution development and engaging customers in co-development to promote profitable growth for the business. Finally, the Strategic Marketing Director will own functional relationships with Customers and drive growth via business expertise and marketing execution. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Working with the Commercial Sales team, build marketing-to-marketing relationships with Kerry’s key customers, allowing for a deeper understanding of our customers business and the ability to advise on customer engagements
    • Drive market growth strategy development and engagement
    • Assist with category and channel strategic planning and oversees plan execution across channels, priority push and pull initiatives within the business
    • Provides insight on new growth areas, product innovation and market expansion within the channel or market - including identifying concept and technology white space, as input to the business growth strategy, and recommend M&A opportunities
    • Works across sales, research/development and other functions to optimize a profitable product portfolio that will deliver greater value for Kerry and its customers
    • Guide marketing research and marketing communications teams on activities that will drive growth across strategies and with targeted customers
    • Using the Market Insight Presentation process – project manage and deliver high quality, trend and insight driven customer centric presentations and events to include trends presentations, technology presentations, etc.
    • Take a leadership approach in tailoring the Taste & Nutrition to the end-use market and/or channel
    • Manage score card that tracks performance against business objectives and strategies
    • Collaborate with commercial teams to design and deploy sales training workshops and customer intimacy initiatives  
    • Gain in-depth understanding of Kerry’s business, the market and competitive landscape and evaluates potential opportunities, threats and acquisition targets
    • Manage forums and programs that contribute to a high performing, integrated, global marketing team
    • Lead, coach, train, and develop team members

    Qualifications

    Experience/Skills Required for the Role:

    • Bachelor’s Degree required. MBA preferred
    • 7-10 years progressively responsible, post baccalaureate experience in related capacity or food industry role
    • Experience in Foodservice industry within a business development and/or strategic marketing role, including deep relationships with Customers
    • Proven project management skills
    • Demonstrated ability to formulate 3-5 year strategies and turn them into clear compelling actionable annual business plans and results
    • Strategic planning and strong analytical skills
    • Excellent communication (verbal and written)
    • Effective interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work with cross-functional teams
    • Leadership and management (of employees, projects and agencies)
    • Creative, innovative and dynamic with leadership qualities necessary to drive growth and develop talent
    • High customer focus and insight orientation
    • The ability to manage multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes
    • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and act tactically
    • Proven resource optimization, team management and development skills
    • 25% travel required
