Description and Responsibilities

Cleans dust, oil, and other debris from machines, overhead pipes, and conveyors.

Cleans screens and filters.

Cleans floors and applies floor drier using a large floor scrubber and buffer.

Clean and sanitize work areas, to ensure control of contaminants, bacteria, and other pathogens.

Receive training on chemicals; uses, hazards, storage, and disposal techniques.

Ability to properly use chemical after adequate training is received.

Sweeps, mops, scrubs, dusts, and vacuums break rooms, restrooms, production and warehouse areas.

Picks up refuse from plant grounds and maintains area by removing snow.

Notifies Sanitation Manager concerning need for cleaning supplies.

Arranges boxes, material, and other industrial equipment in neat and orderly manner.

Transports trash and waste to disposal area.

Starts pumps to force cleaning solution through production machinery, and piping.



High school diploma or GED preferred, as well as relevant work experience.



Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, work orders, and standard operating procedures. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one or small group situations



Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as weights, pounds, quantities and pallet configurations. Ability to analyze and interpret data. Ability to apply concepts of basic math.



Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.



                No certification required



Ability to operate material handling equipment, hand power tools, standard hand operating and manufacturing packaging equipment. Prior manufacturing/food experience preferred
