Provides descriptive and consumer product expertise in a dynamic environment by managing sensory and consumer projects, supporting client studies and participating in the product development cycle. Applies sound, scientific practices and techniques to flavors and products.
Conducts all phases of sensory and consumer testing in order to generate sound sensory data which the project team can use to make better business decisions and drive project success.
Experienced in descriptive analysis and the statistical analysis of advanced descriptive methods. Recruiting and training an external descriptive panel, panel management, advanced sensory methods (e.g., TDS. TOS, Time Intensity, Napping to sort products, Mouthfeel terminology, etc.) and panel leadership are a plus.
Knowledgeable on conducting advanced consumer methods (e.g., Napping, Drivers of Liking, Emotions, Consumption studies, etc.). Working with outside agencies and/or setting up an external consumer panel is a plus.
Works with project teams to identify opportunities where sensory and consumer product testing can be used most efficiently and effectively. Must be able to effectively lead, prioritize work and empower teams.
Recommends clear actionable objectives and the test methodology to be used to answer these objectives. Knowledgeable in identifying product insights, drawing conclusions and communicating recommendations & next steps to the project team and strategic players.
Contributes to functional basic research projects including methodology development, training initiatives, alternative and creative ways to present statistical data, etc.
Optimizes the strengths of Kerry by delivering the best Taste and Nutrition experience for our customers. Is a strong part of the customer facing team to deliver solutions that will “Nourish and Delight” our customers.
Minimum requirements include MS in sensory, with at least 5-7 years with CPG/flavor experience; PhD with 2 – 5 years with CPG/flavor industry experience.
Knowledgeable in both qualitative and quantitative research, emotion testing, Napping studies. CATA and integrating descriptive and consumer results is key to this position.
Experience working in the Sensory Lab, related field and/or statistical experience.
Relevant experience in sensory analysis including a working knowledge of a wide range of sensory and consumer techniques, statistical analysis and their applications.
Experienced with conducting all types of discrimination, descriptive, consumer and/or innovation studies.
Knowledgeable in using advanced descriptive methods including TDS, TOS, etc., lexicon and reference identification and/or having Descriptive panel leader or descriptive panel management experience is a plus.
Statistical expertise including multivariate analysis, regression, Thurstonian modelling, Design of Experiments, etc. a plus. Emphasis on psychophysical measurement, in particular discriminative, descriptive (including TDS, TOS and Time Intensity).
