    The Functional Ingredients and Actives (FI&A) division presents a remarkable combination of technical capabilities, innovative applications, and consumer insight understanding.     Role Description:

    Reporting to the VP of Business Development, the Business Development Manager – Enzymes will support, position and promote the Kerry Enzyme product portfolio in North American food & beverage markets such as Bread & Rolls, Cookies, Crackers, Cakes, Wafers, Brewing, Cereal Extracts, Confectionery, Meat, Dairy, Yoghurt, Ice cream, Protein hydrolysis, Human Nutrition, etc.

    The Business Development Manager will provide technical expertise to support major enzyme projects by being the Enzymes specialist and driving customer projects in collaboration with the End Use Market sales organization.

    • Support and promote the Kerry Enzyme product portfolio in N American food & beverage markets. This will be focused at finding solutions for customers’ problems.
    • Provide technical expertise to support the sales organization on major enzyme projects and undertake joint customer visits when required.
    • Develop opportunities with existing customers and prospective customers. This will be done by being the Enzymes champion and driving customer projects in collaboration with the End Use Market sales organization or where this does not provide adequate market coverage, by means of direct customer management.
    • Collect intelligence on competitors, key customers, markets and industry trends.
    • Manage new product introductions, coordinating with applications, regulatory, supply chain
    • and sales to ensure alignment.
    • Discover market opportunities for enzymes and work with strategic marketing to establish market size and target customers.
    • Establish, guide, and meet performance, cost, and timeline metrics to drive projects to successful completion.
    • Develop and maintain project pipelines with existing and prospective customers.
    • Manage margin expectations and strategic pricing decisions.
    • Provide technical expertise leading internal and external enzyme projects.
    • Use a consultative sales approach to increase customer interaction, visibility of value creation, and closed won opportunities.
    • Collect intelligence on competitors, key customers, markets and industry trends.
    • Address customer concerns or requests for information regarding enzymes and enzyme applications.
    • Defend any current enzyme business “at risk”.
    • Liaise with R&D to identify and guide enzyme innovation.


    Qualifications / Experience:

    The ideal candidate will be someone who has at minimum a Bachelor degree in a Biotechnology/ Microbiology or Science with Biology / Biochemistry as a key discipline. Master’s Degree beneficial.

    He or she will have at least 2 years of experience in the markets targeted in a Technical Service or Sales role.


    Competencies (Critical Skills, Aptitudes & Personality):

    • The person will have a strong, positive and dynamic character.
    • Enzyme product and application knowledge across a broad range of food and beverage markets– breath & depth.

    • Bakery application knowledge would be a distinct advantage.

    • Experience with one or more enzyme industry leaders.

    • Ability to develop good business skills and knowledge of potential markets.

    • Ability to work independently and learn about Kerry’s broad technical capabilities with the ability to work hard to achieves goals, targets and objectives.

    • Ability to travel up to 20%.

    • Excellent interpersonal and project management skills.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Good organizational skills and follow through.

    • Capable of creating business strategy and building alignment within and across functions to achieve goals.

    • The ability to develop and maintain contacts in the industry.
