    Description and Responsibilities

     

     

    Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

     

    • Perform testing and evaluation or finished products. report results to Produciton and or enter them into the system and maintain full documentations
    • Maintain log(s) of all samples for evaluation.
    • Prepare composite samples.
    • Perform visual and odor screening to become knowledgeable regarding raw materials and products.
    • Verify sample information.
    • Prepare materials and products for laboratory evaluation.
    • Learn sensory, physical, chemical or instrumental evaluation methods.
    • Perform Laboratory equipment calibrations and standardizations and record findings
    • Retrieve standards and generate worksheets.
    • Maintain clean & safe lab equipment and environment.
    • Utilizes wet chemical, instrumental, physical, and or sensory methods to determine specification parameters of raw materials and finished products.
    • Conduct Environmental sampling and testing and investigate and report positive results
    • Submit evaluation results to respective areas involved
    • Demonstrates a positive attitude and relates in a positive manner when interactiong with all personnel
    • Follows all quality, safety, and company protocols & procedures.
    • May perform other duties as required by the Department.

     

     

     

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    HS Diploma or Eqivalent.  Associates in Food Science, Chemistry or Nutrition is preferred PLUS

    • Minimum of 1 - 3 years-experience in a laboratory environment.
    • Ability to multitask to meet deadlines
    • Basic Computer Skills- MS office
    • Strong Attention to Detail
    • Basic reading and Math skills
    • Science, analytical and problem solving aptitudes.

     

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to be exposed to and smell a variety of flavor products, essential oils and raw materials. 
    • Must be able to stand and work at a lab bench for long periods of time.
    • Must be able to see to operate equipment and interpret results.

     

    Working Environment:

    • Laboratory environment with frequest exposure to production environments
