Description and Responsibilities



Coordinate the performance of blending activities, batching and pulling, sanitation, safety and other related duties. Monitor HACCP, GMP and food production performance. Prepare shift report. Communicate with other shift leaders and supervisors to insure smooth operation of facility. Insure that production floor transition issues are handled before shift change.



Essential Functions and Duties:


  • Function as a team leader and promote teamwork.
  • Will act as shift leader with responsibility for running all aspects of the shift.
  • Interpret and implement production schedule as issued.
  • Coordinate activities to implement schedule.
  • Achieve targeted production and quality goals.
  • Ensure that all paperwork is filled out properly.
  • Ensure that GMP, HACCP and food quality guidelines are being followed.
  • Train team members on all aspects of the production process.
  • Coordinate proper cleaning and treatment of equipment.
  • Ensure that sanitation and communication issues are taken care of at shift change.
  • Identify and assign productive work to team members during blend room down time.
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervision.

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English at a level to facilitate the understanding of the terminology of the job. This would include all paperwork requirements of the job.
  • Must possess adequate people skills to fulfill the requirements of the job and facilitate interaction with fellow employees, management, and outside personnel.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and IBM Lotus Notes.
  • Ability to lift 50# repetitiously, up to 100# occasionally, and the ability to kneel, bend over, squat, stoop and carry.
  • Ability to maintain forklift and related equipment certification.
  • Ability to handle numerous tasks at once without direct guidance by supervisor.
  • Detailed knowledge of blending process and order of addition of raw materials.
  • Proficient as set up, operation and trouble shooting blender room equipment.
  • Good leadership, motivation, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation functions related to production.
  • Knowledge of food safety, GMP and HACCP requirements.
