We have an immediate openings for Reactor Operators at our Manufacturing facility in Clark, NJ. Final shift will be determined after training. Training may take place on a first shift or on off shifts.  Must be available for weekend work as needed. *Shift subject to change


Description and Responsibilities

Primary Purpose:


The reactor operator is responsible for performing all assigned reaction operations, to ensure continuous operation.


Essential Functions/Responsibilities:


  1. Helps ensure production needs are met with regard to quality, GMP’s and safety. This includes HAACP.
  2. Responsible for making sure ingredients are added into the reactor correctly, utilizing process control sheets. This includes weighing up of any minor ingredients, double checking item numbers, batch quantities, and lot numbers.
  3. Make any necessary changes to make sure batches meet quality specifications. Provide the quality department with a sample of every batch run.
  4. Operate the vacuum tray ovens as needed.
  5. Comprehend all aspects of the blending controls.
  6. Comprehend all aspects of the sanitation process.
  7. Comprehend the purpose of USDA and procedures to follow for USDA products. Complete the proper USDA documentation and contact quality for documented oversight.
  8. Maintain sanitation level in the reactor room area at all times.
  9. Points out equipment problems to maintenance for repairs and follows up on progress.
  10. Works with the other reactor operators and Supervisors to ensure a smooth transition from shift to shift.
  11. Demonstrates a positive attitude and relates in a positive manner when interacting with all personnel.
  12. Understand and comply with all HACCP, Allergen, Environmental, regulatory and customer demands and requirements.
  13. Report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  14. Have a good understanding of the general purpose, philosophy and direction of The Kerry Group as a whole and specifically the Clark, NJ plant as it relates to employee policies and expectations, quality, customer satisfaction, GMP, sanitation, and production requirements.
  15. Performs other duties as assigned. Responsible to adhere to quality system requirements





Minimum Requirements:

HS or equivalent experience

Previous experience in process operation in which has been demonstrated a high degree of competence and understanding of process equipment.

Problem solving ability and aptitude for learning and professional growth.

Reading, writing and speaking in English


Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds and move up to 400 pounds. Must be able to operate forklifts and other equipment integral to the job functions. Must be able to see and distinguish between labels. Must be able to stand for extended periods and walk through the warehouse. Must be certified to wear a respirator and follow all rules regarding respirator wear.


Working Environment: Factory environment with exposure to flavor, and basic product chemicals and raw materials.
