Description and Responsibilities

The Kerry Legal Department is looking for a full-time Legal Assistant to provide administrative support to the department, including the General Counsel, Associate General Counsels and external counsel. Duties initially will include communicating with inside and outside customers, preparing contracts and other documents, handling administrative functions for the Department, and assisting in special projects as needed.

  • Receive requests for legal assistance and direct accordingly
  • File and update cases in Legal Files, the Legal Department’s case management system
  • Prepare legal agreements using master forms
  • Support the legal department on administrative matters
  • Compose written correspondence
  • Assist in acquisition projects
  • Undertake special projects or other administrative assignments as needed
  • Schedule meetings
  • Order departmental supplies
  • Other duties as assigned




  • Excellent writing skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to multi-task and ensure follow-through
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Able to use good judgment
  • Knowledge of Legal Files is a plus
  • Experience in an in-house legal department (corporate environment) or law firm, or paralegal training is a plus
  • Associates Degree
