Description and Responsibilities

 

Industrial Maintenance

    • Read diagrams and drawings to determine work procedures
    • Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during installation, setting up and repair of machinery
    • Install machinery and mechanical equipment according to the layout plans using hand and power tools
    • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate abnormalities and malfunctions following the preventative maintenance schedule
    • Adjust machinery and repair or replace faulty parts through fabricating or installing new parts
    • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
    • Make modifications to tools and fixtures including the fabrication of new parts as required
    • Complete appropriate documentation according to company procedures
    • Troubleshoot basic electrical systems
    • Assist with inventory of maintenance parts
    • Inspect and repair heating and cooling system
    • Report all food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action

 

Preventative Maintenance

  • Follow maintenance schedule to ensure efficiency of company’s systems

Continuous Improvements

  •  Maintain technical proficiency through participating in training and development courses as provided by Kerry Canada and others
    • Adhere to the ethical standards of those implicit within Kerry Canada
    • Participate with team members in continuous improvement projects and suggestions

Equipment/Technology Utilized                                                         

  •  Hand and Power Tools
    • Welder – Tig and Stick
    • Verniers, Micrometers
    • Levels

 Problem-Solving/Judgment

  • Troubleshooting production equipment and HVAC system
  • Electrical systems as required
  • Mechanical systems as required

Qualifications

Education

  • Certified Millwright or apprentice
  • Refrigerator “B” Operator or higher

Experience

  • 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, food industry
  • Refrigeration and electrical experience required
