Our Rochester plant is apart of Kerry Ingredients & Flavours, a worldwide leader in the manufacturing of quality food ingredients. Our main facility totals over 71,000 sq ft and is comprised of office, laboratory, production, warehouse, maintenance and other utility areas. We specialize in fermentation, spray drying, and powder blending and packaging.

Description and Responsibilities

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Essential Functions:

  1. Work with various hand tools, power tools, welders and cutting equipment to repair plant equipment.
  2. Install sanitary and non-sanitary welded and threaded piping, per skill level.
  3. Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment; work with low voltage DC and 120, 240 and 480 volt AC power based on Electrician guidelines.
  4. Repair refrigeration and air conditioning equipment; work with ammonia and Freon with proper licensing.
  5. Serves as “on call” outside of standard scheduled hours, as determined by the on call schedule saved in G:\Cabinets\Share\Phone & On Call Lists. During on call times, must be available via phone and to come on site as requests necessitate.

B.        Marginal Functions:

  1. Performs relief work as a Boiler Mechanic, as licensing and schedules necessitate.
  2. Operate forklift and aerial lifts.
  3. Help as required in the parts storeroom.


  1. EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED. BUM program highly desired.  State of Minnesota First or Second Class B Boiler license desired.
  2. EXPERIENCE: 2+ years experience required. Prior experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred.
  3. TESTING: Employee most take competency testing. 


  1. SKILLS Mechanical Repair, General Welding, some Electrical Troubleshooting, ability to use hand tools, hand-held power tools, a drill press, and basic computer skills including the ability to access email and the internet.

Must have the ability to work alone and in close cooperation with production personnel.  Capable of working through complex problems alone or with others to provide logical solutions
