Description and Responsibilities

We have a Production Supervisor position located in Woodstock, Ontario. We have 45 sites across North America and our Woodstock, Ontario, site is a part of the Dairy & Culinary business and has 50 employees, with 35 of them being on the Production team. This is a site we are looking to grow and has multi-food technologies. We are looking for someone open to career advancement throughout Canada, and/or internationally, and also someone who is comfortable working all shifts. Responsibilities include: 

  • Responsible for leading production staff to achieve production targets in a safe and efficient manner
  • Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, warehouse, and quality departments to achieve and sustain results
  • Responsible for supervising 15 direct reports in Operator roles
  • Leads team members by managing and executing plant processes
  • Supports continuous improvement processes to ensure safety, quality, cost, and customer service goals are met
  • Maintains an engaged and team-oriented workforce to meet business demands

Qualifications

College diploma, or University degree in an applicable field of study preferred or relevant work experience. If no degree, looking for minimum 7 years of experience being a Production Supervisor in a plant environment

  • 5-10 years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing or similar environment
  • Experiencing managing sanitation activities
  • Demonstrated success in developing/implementing continuous improvement initiatives and accountability programs
  • Lean manufacturing/Six Sigma experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated success assessing, developing and retaining top talent
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements, adhere to budgets, and maintain regulatory compliance
  • Proven ability to lead with the following key competencies: Critical Thinking, Continuous Cost Focus, Technical Expertise, Influence and Delivery of Sustainable Results
  • Must be able to troubleshoot problem(s) to develop corrective solutions
  • Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work weekends/some Holidays
  • Experience Supervising in a unionized work environment
  • Must be computer literate (Microsoft office)
